Who will be allow to OPT-OUT the July 2020 exam?
The students who have already submitted an online examination application for CA exam May- 2020 cycle will be allow to opt-out the exam. It will carry forward their candidature to the next CA examination in November 2020. The attempt they have made for May- 2020 exam cycle will be treat as cancelled / not counted.
What will be the charges and fees?
There will be no extra charges for opting-out the May cycle of CA exam. The fees already paid for the May cycle CA exam by the opting-out students, will automatically be shifted and carried forward to the next examination on November 2020. The students will be required to apply again for the November 2020 examination at the relevant time and fees already paid will adjust.
Procedure for availing OPT-OUT facility:
- Submit a declaration online available at https://icaiexam.icai.org from 17th June 2020(Wednesday) 11 AM Onwards to 20th June 2020 (Saturday) 11.59 PM.
- On submitting the declaration, candidature of the student for May 2020 Examination Cycle will be cancel and he/she will be shift to the next Examination Cycle.
- Kindly note that once option for “Opt-out” is taken, it will be treat as final. No request for its change will be entertain under any circumstances.
Is there any possibility that the CA July exam will be postpone?
As ICAI have mentioned, they will review the situation of the global pandemic in the first week of July 2020. And status will be intimate to students who have not opted out. Even if one student wishes to appear in the July exam, ICAI is committing to serve. The conduct of the CA July exam will completely depend upon the then Government’s advisories. This may be issue for the area in which a particular Centre is. In any such eventuality, the students will be accommodate to the November 2020 examination cycle.
What should you do?
If you want to appear for the CA July exam, there are two variables for you. If ICAI conducts CA July exams, you should just appear for the exam and give it your best shot; you will definitely clear. If the situation worsens and ICAI can’t conduct exams in July, that is great. You have 4 more months to take your preparation next level and your chances to clear the November exam is high. If you want to appear for exams directly in November, simply relax, opt-out and start studying for November exams. You will clear for sure.
